Hellenic Cadastre toward completion – HOW property in Chania Crete is affected

The Cadastral Survey enters its final stage: The collection of Cadastre Declarations in the regions of Magnesia and Sporades begins while the collection of Cadastre Declaration in certain regions of the country is extended. On March 12, 2019 the collection of Hellenic Cadastre declarations in the regional units of Magnesia and Sporades begins. Property owners in these areas are requested to submit a property declaration to the local National Cadastre office or electronically via the website www.ktimatologio.gr.

The deadline for submitting the declarations for these areas begins on the 12th of March 2019 and ends on the 12th of June 2019 for Greek residents and on the 12th of September 2019 for non-residents and for the Greek State. Submission of declarations is mandatory. Failure to comply will incur the penalties laid down by law. Furthermore, an extension till the 24th of April 2019 was also announced for declarations due till Ash Monday 11th of March, in 11 areas for Greek residents.

In particular, the Hellenic Cadastre extended the deadline for collecting property declarations in the Regional Units of Arta, Preveza, Ioannina, Lefkada, Aitoloakarnania, Rodopi, Thassos, Larissa, Thessaloniki, Grevena and West Attica. The deadline for submission of declarations by foreign residents for properties in these areas expires on the 10th of June 2019.

For those of you who wonder how Chania region is affected by the Hellenic Cadastre recent announcements, you don't have to worry..at least not yet. Every part of the country will be gradually integrated in the national property platform created by Hellenic Cadastre within the next 24 months, Crete and Chania, included.
